Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturday - Takashi Murakami


This Saturday on April 5, they will be featuring
"Japanimated! Arts and Cultures of Japan"

One of the cool things that is taking place will be the contest for dressing up as your favorite amime or manga character and get your chance to have your picture taken to win a © MURAKAMI catalogue! From 5:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. Cosplay Photo Contest
Rubin Lobby and Hall of the Americas, 1st Floor




There is a film at 8pm:
The documentary Smoke and Mirrors: A Geisha Story (Artemis Willis, 2004, 63 min., NR) chronicles the relationship between an elderly ex-geisha and a young Brooklyn filmmaker. Free tickets (30) are available at the Visitor Center at 7 p.m. Located

Tickets for © MURAKAMI are $10 for adults, $8 for older adults and students with valid ID; children under 12 are free. © MURAKAMI tickets include the cost of general admission and are available at the Brooklyn Museum Visitor Center for the day of purchase.

The exhibit © MURAKAMI will be from April 5–July 13, 2008

Also, don't forget to stop by the Museum's shop. They will be featuring Louis Vuitton items that are "monogramoflauge" design by Marc Jacobs and Takashi Murakami.
Fashion Week Daily reports that leather Louis Vuitton goods in the new pattern will come in three shades of green and be sold at the pop-up Vuitton shop in the Brooklyn Museum before hitting LV shops worldwide.
