Afrika Bambata
Afrika Bambaataa DJs with DJ Roxy Cottontail
SKOOL - Saturday March 1 - Hiro Ballroom
Generally regarded as the Godfather of Hip-Hop, Afrika Bambaataa is the real deal. His early single 'Planet Rock' (1982) heralded the birth of a new era in electronic music, and is still played regularly in clubs to this day. His subsequent high-profile collaborations with artists such as Johnny Rotten of the S*x Pistols (a.k.a. John Lydon), James Brown, Boy George and George Clinton among others helped inestimably to push the hip-hop genre forward. We could go on... but this guy has acheived so much in his life that we'll just direct you to his wikipedia page and tell you that the guy still knows how to throw down. This is going to be a great night.
DJ Roxy Cottontail will also be spinning!
