Contested Streets: Screening and Discussion with Paul Steely White - FREE

Thursday, October 2, 2008 6pm at the New York Transit Museum
corner of Boerum Pl. and Schermerhorn St. Brooklyn, NY

The NY Transit Museum presents a screening of the documentary
“Contested Streets: Breaking NYC Gridlock,”
followed by a discussion led by Paul Steely White, Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives and a leading advocate for the movement to promote walking, cycling and public transit over single occupancy vehicles.
“Contested Streets” recalls the rich diversity of our city's street life before the automobile age and travels to sister cities around the world to see innovative solutions that reclaim public streets.
Join us for this lively evening that promises to touch upon issues critical to all New Yorkers; rising oil prices, greenhouse gases and the important debate about the future of our streets and the role of public transportation.
