The Blog goes on the Road

This week we will be reporting from Spain where we are on a hunt for new labels and checking out the Benicasim Music Festival.

Upon our arrival yesterday, we stopped by LA CASA ENCENDIDA where we got to hang out on the roof and listen to the Dub Step Allstars DJ. Translating literally to "The House on Fire," La Casa Encendida is a cultural, social and educational center funded by the bank Caja Madrid. Here you can watch plays, see exhibitions, borrow books, use the Internet, and join a variety of workshops from photography to painting to dance, at a super-reduced prices. It is located in the neighborhood called Lavapies on Calle Ronda de Valencia.

This Sunday DJ session on the roof is a sort of mini PS1 Warm Up....good turnout...and we even saw the guitarist of Kings of Convenience - Whitest Boy Alive, who stuck out from the crowd with his bright orange locks. He even seemed to have his own fan club of girls.

Exhibits included a sort of video mashup of the Beach Boys vs the Ghetto Boys..
