Comme Des Garcons design for Converse
This evening I was reading the Metro paper and came cross the article on head designer Rei Kawakubo designing for Converse.
The shoes will be sold at Opening Ceremony. I didn't see them yet on the website.
I did some research and found an article on NBC New York website.
They said that "Converse kicks will hit the U.S. later this month at Comme des Garcons stores across the city, as well as select retailers that sell Comme des Garcons Play. Then, come October, the rest of the nation will be able to buy one of the four new styles -- two high-top sneakers and two oxfords, all emblazoned with the signature heart and eyes".
I love Converse shoes. The converse styles I have seen are the Jack Purcell and the hi-top. These are super cute shoes but the price seems kind of high for Converse.

Warming Up at Warm Up
I know it's hot but it may be worth withstanding the heat for this one...
August 15 Warm Up: DJ Pierre, Phuture 303, House of Stank, and Growing
Date: Saturday, August 15, 2009
Time: 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Afro Acid hosts this sizzling edition of Warm Up, featuring DJ Pierre (Chicago), PHuture 303 (Chicago), House of Stank (New York) and Growing.
Chicago native DJ Pierre is famous for pioneering the genre of Acid House in 1987 as part of the DJ trio Phuture. This electronic music magnate continues to innovate as a DJ and producer, ushering his genre into the 21st century.
PHuture 303 is the 2009 incarnation of the legendary Chicago group "Phuture," which was originally formed by DJs Pierre, Spanky and Herb J in 1985. The group is best known for pioneering the genre of Acid House in 1985 with a single track. DJs Spank-Spank & Proffessor Trax now make up PHuture 303, and keep this Chicago house legend alive.
DJs Christy Love and W. Jeremy are House of Stank, a DJ duo originally formed in 2006 to host weekly parties in downtown Manhattan. The parties soon grew into a hotbed of musical collaboration, making the pair known for their spiritual flavor of tech and deep house, and their work to develop the genre itself.
Joe DeNardo, Kevin Doria, and newest member Sadie Laska are the drone-rock trio Growing. Ephemeral, effect-laden guitar improvisations are layered with glitches and glazed over with a womblike vibe of ambient electronic pulsation.

Visit the Merchant's House Museum and see the Exhibition: Mid-19th Century Underwear.
Since I work in the underwear industry I thought this would be a great place to see the old fashion underwear styles and I am very interested in ghosts. They say sometimes people have experience that they are not alone in the house beside the other visitors.
Mid-19th Century Underwear: Defy propriety and come take a peek at our hand-embroidered chemise, split-leg drawers, steel-boned corset, voluminous petticoat, silk stockings, and cage crinoline. You’ll be amazed – and amused – when you learn how much a mid-19th century lady had to put on before she got dressed. Included with regular admission. ( Sourced MHM)
The exhibit will be until Sept. 14th, 2009
Hours : Open 12 to 5 p.m.,
Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Closed Tuesday & Wednesday.
Tours are self-guided, with docents available to answer questions. Reservations are not necessary for groups of 10 or less.
Admission: $8 General, $5 Students & Over 65 FREE for Members and children under 12 accompanied by an adult.
Location: 29 East Fourth Street, New York, NY 10003

Last year, I rode my bike and had so much fun.
I loved how I could take pictures of Grand Center Station,
when normally you can't walk or ride your bike on
that busy section of Park Ave and 42 Street.
