Naked Music Recording artist, Michaelangelo L'Acqua, the Global Music Director of W Hotels, will be playing a DJ set this Wednesday at The W Hotel.

L'Acqua has worked as Tom Ford's music director for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, has produced about 150 runway shows in Milan, Paris, New York and Berlin working with Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, John Varvatos, Chanel, and Diane von Furstenberg among others.You can expect to hear a cool, fun, smooth, eclectic set. Perfect for some after-work lounging, martini-sipping, toe-tapping, chatting and dancing in the W Hotel's oppulent and elegant surroundings.

The reason for Dr. Dre and other musicians being there is because Best Buy is launching in-store sections for DJ equipment, building on last year’s move to add sections devoted to music instruments.

In an era when movies are often reduced to the solitary screens of laptops and iPods, the acclaimed Cinema 16 series offers a true revival of the medium. Pairing obscure vintage film programs with live scores composed and performed by specially chosen musicians, Cinema 16 recreates the shared experience and awe of the 1920's silent film era.

The Saturday, November 21st edition will be housed in DUMBO's Galapagos Art Space. Admission and cocktails will be complimentary, courtesy of Drambuie, the fabled Scottish whiskey-based spiced liquor.


The program includes two PSA's and one educational video from the 60s and 70s:
Styling and Experimenting, 1964 - Illustrates the process of designing the "new" mustang.
One Got Fat: Bicycle Safety, 1963 – A group of children wearing ape masks, demonstrate the dangers of biking in this strange and dark PSA.
Solar System 2nd Edition, 1977 – Tom Smith headed up the Special Effects team at Industrial Light & Magic, where he created all the goodies for the Star Wars films. This is his academic film masterwork.
These Are Powers will perform an original soundtrack, written specifically for this program. With DJ Jack Shine.
